How can I help my dog lose weight?

So you finally have your obese dog on that weight–loss diet. You're going to prolong his life and restore his health. Then the dog looks up with those big brown eyes and begs, "Please, just one little treat!"

According to Tufts University veterinarian, Liz Rozanski, now is the time to take action – literally.

If you're unable to take your dog out to play at the moment, try giving him a healthy treat – non-starchy vegetables such as celery or carrots are good options.
